Biography

Haruna Hosokawa

Haruna Hosokawa, the Japanese violinist started playing the violin at the age of 3. At the age of 10, she held her first solo recital in California, America.
She was awarded numerous awards in Japan such as special prize at the 23rd Junior Classical. Music Competition, 1st and special prize at the 20th Takatsuki Music Competition, Junior section, and so on.

In Europe, she has received 2nd prize at Concursul National de Interpretare "Eduard Caudella" (Romania), finalist at 25th edition of Luigi Nono International Competition, Soloist. Category and so on.

She has made a debut as a soloist giving performances with Oradea Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in Oradea, Romania. In 2018, she was selected as a soloist from the conservatory and played with National University of Music Bucharest Orchestra. She has given recitals in Japan, the US, Romania, Kosovo, Cyprus and so on.

As an orchestra player, she was selected as an academist by Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and participated in the project “Spiegel im Spiegel” in 2023. Throughout her Bachelor degree, she served as a concertmaster in National University of Music Bucharest Orchestra.

After graduating from National University of Music Bucharest in Romania with the highest grade possible, she continues her studies at Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Eliot Lawson.

Yuxin Chen

Yuxin Chen was born in Shenzhen, China, where she started playing viola at the age of eight. In 2010 she auditioned for the Shenzhen Arts school in China and began to studying with Nisha Ren. Yuxin received full scholarship from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2018, where she received lesson from Professor Louise Lansdown. She also been awarded Leverhulme Art Scholarship in 2020. And She has given solo performances and recitals in UK including Ulverston music festival in 2019 and Cadenza. Music festival in 2020.

Deeply passionate by chamber and orchestra music, Yuxin had the chance to play and perform with ensembles in different festival. She participated in Grafenegg Festival in 2023 and Dorset Opera Orchestra in 2022. Also, She is a member in the Damsco quartet and joined the NSKA in 2023 under the mentorship of Marc Danel. Yuxin has participated masterclasses led by Thomas Riebl, Martin Outram, Garth Knox, Wolfram Christ, Timothy Ridout, and Nobuko Imai, among others. Yuxin is presently pursing her Master degree in viola at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and studying with Professor Marjolein Dispa.
